Gallery Thea is always busy having fun with new projects and creating new designs and ideas, so we will keep you updated with whats been going on.
SEPTEMBER 2009
SUFFOLK MAGAZINE
Suffolk magazine commissioned me to paint 12 presentation plates for their Food and Drink awards, an annual event to celebrate all that's good about Suffolk food. As you can see, the plates themselves were quite fiddly and represented night after night of painstakingly detailed painting. They were presented to the winners in each category and I presented the "Best tea/coffee shop" to The Wild Strawberry Cafe. It was a really good do and I got to wear my new Orla Kiely dress !!!
I was thrilled to be a part of these awards, there are so many excellent food producers in Suffolk and it's only right that their work should be acknowledged. Hopefully, it will be excellent PR for me too - I've already taken a few orders from people who attended the event. "
SNAPE FOOD AND DRINK FESTIVAL
This is a picture of The Fish Hut that I was commissioned to paint for the Snape Food and Drink festival, for Nick who runs The Golden Key at Snape and the Butley Oyster.
I loved painting it outside the barn in Dunwich where my kilns are kept, one sunny September weekend.
OCTOBER 2009
RED MAGAZINE
Guess what? Gallery Thea is going to feature in Red magazine in the December 09 issue, a piece about small businesses like mine and people shopping locally at Christmas. I'm really thrilled as Red magazine is one of my favourite's and the December issue has one of the highest readerships and is full of Christmas gift ideas. Hopefully, it will be amazing PR for me and should result in lots of pre-christmas orders. Top photographer Andrew Montgomery and a hair/make-up stylist arrived early on Saturday the 3rd of october for the photoshoot. As you will see, I had to prepare the shop for Christmas complete with a fully ladened Christmas trees and blacked out windows to give the illusion of winter light. Andrew took some lovely shots, really atmospheric and twinkly. I had planned to take the tree down again, it is early October afterall. But I've had so many customers come into the shop and order Christmas ceramics, I think I'll leave it up now! Some national PR, how exciting is that?!
JOAB'S BIRTHDAY
Joab (my eldest son) was 5 on the same day as the photo shoot for red, luckily he was included in some of the photos so he didn't mind too much. We celebrated his birthday on the Sunday by having a dinosaur party which he loved, we made dino's on sticks with sequins glitter and jewels.
I made all the children tiles to take home with their saurus names on !

GOOD HOUSEKEEPING
Good Housekeeping have done three page lifestyle article on me, my family and my business which has just come out, the April edition. I was so nervous about opening it but pleasently suprised, although I do look slightly mad in the first photo.
It was a real treat as I had a make over, wore some beautiful clothes and had a stylist do my hair, every girls dream.
